Saturday 21st January – bike **** Around Felixstowe including lunch with ‘Emily’ – sunny periods and cold.

Another cold and sunny start but not as frosty today than of late, Saturday lay-in with the usual ‘Wordle’ challenge with Mag before doing my exercises. Then I pack a picnic going for yummy chicken sandwiches with the first butter I have had in three weeks but it is working and we have both lost a few pounds:) We then head out on the bikes around 12.30 after freeing Mags back wheel which was jammed up with loads of frozen mud! We take the usual route to Fakenham Church via the Grove park and down Marsh Lane spotting a large flock of geese flying over the Deben before continuing along side Kings Fleet, stopping to watch some swans with the water being particularly frozen in places. It is lovely being out despite it being very chilly, luckily the wind was light but I defiantly needed more clothes on! Arriving at the church we checked out the beautiful snowdrops first, unfortunately they were mostly in the shade so my pics were not great! It was too cold to sit too long but the sandwich was delicious as we set off sticking mainly to the country lanes as the paths were pretty muddy. Then down Grimston Lane and back to Felixstowe for a very welcome warming cuppa!
